As a professional guitar player, recording artist, singer, songwriter, and producer, Chris relies on his equipment for his livelihood and his high professional standard. Chris isn't about to give away all his secrets, but it is well-documented that most of the time when plugged in Chris plays Fender Stratocasters through a number of different Fender amps (Supers, DeVilles, Deluxes, Blues Juniors). Depending on who he's playing with and the style they're playing, you will at times see him playing some variation of a Les Paul or possibly a Gibson 339. If he's plugged in and playing slide, something he is quickly becoming known for, then you could very well see him playing one of the Danelectros that are in his growing collection of tools. Depending on the acoustic sound and feel that Chris is going for on any given song, you can find him playing a Gibson J-45, a rust-colored National Triolian, or a growing favorite, Cole Clark. Whatever guitar he is playing, it's held up with a Levy's strap. Chris uses D'Addario strings on his electrics and acoustics. He's a big believer in Planet Waves cables. If you peak over the monitor wedges at his pedal board, you will see Retro-Sonic pedals.
